Essential Treatments

Microdermabrasion

Aging, lifestyle, exposure to the sun and other environmental factors all take their toll on your skins. Microdermabrasion is a noninvasive solution that revitalises your skin's appearance, promotes production of new cells in the deepest skin layers, cleanses pores, and stimulates collagen networking, all resulting in improved skin texture and appearance. Microdermabrasion uses a fine jet of crystals to gently and painlessly exfoliate your skin while vacuum suction removes the crystals with the dead skin cells. You're left with new, softer skin and an even skin texture. Microdermabrasion can be done in just a short-period of time and clients can return immediately to their daily routine.

Microdermabrasion appeals all clients, especially those who don't have the luxury of extended recovery time. This simple treatment offers simple relief for dull or oily skin, enlarged and clogged pores, fine lines, and depressed scars with no downtime! Microdermabrasion can be used to treat:
•Brown spots
•Shallow acne scars
•Sun-damaged skin
•Dull or aging skin
•Fine lines and wrinkles
•Uneven skin tone and texture

Chemical Peels, Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, Cosmetic Culture Sydney

Chemical Peels

Are you ready for smooth, youthful looking skin but not ready for surgery? A chemical peel treatment could be just the solution that you are looking for. Chemical peels offer dramatic improvement to skin, reducing fine lines, age spots, scars and wrinkles and are a safe alternative to surgery. Normally performed on an outpatient basis, there are three types of chemical peels: light, medium and deep peels. Which type of peel you get depends on your skin's condition, doctor's recommendation, and what works for your lifestyle.

Chemical peels use a liquid solution that removes the top layers of your skin, revealing new and smoother skin. Chemical peels can be performed on your entire face, specific areas of your face and also on the neck, chest, hands, legs or arms. Healing time varies, depending on the type of peel that is performed. Treatments usually last from 15 to 20 minutes and are one of the most effective way to rejuvenate aging skin, and erase the marks of sun damage. Chemical peels may also remove pre-cancerous skin growths, soften acne facial scars and even control acne. After treatment, the resulting regenerated skin is noticeably smoother and fresher in appearance.

Glycolic Acid Peel
This treatment can be performed on all skin types to brighten dull looking skin immediately. Stimulating treatments that remove dull, fatigued skin as well as fine lines and uneven tonality by reducing dead skin cells and increasing cell turnover; also reduces the development of acne and the appearance of large pores; with consistent treatments, skin evens out and collagen production is stimulated.

Salicylic Acid Peel
The most effective exfoliating treatment for oily/acne prone skins. Renewal treatments slough off dead cells from the surface of the skin; even out discolouration; reduce pore size and development of acne blackheads and whiteheads.

Rationale Peel
Using a combination of ingredients such as Salicylic acid, Lactic acid, Trichloracetic acid and Ascorbic acid, Rationale peels are the only peels of their kind that can be layered. This means that we can treat an acne breakout on the chin whilst also treating sun damage and pigmentation on another area of the face.

Benefits include:
•Reduction of blackheads and pimples
•Reduced oiliness
•Lightening of epidermal hyperpigmentation
•Increased skin hydration, resulting in smoother, more refined, softer skin
•Reduced visibility of pores
•Healthier complexion

Preparation
No preparation is necessary although it is recommended to use a product containing Alpha Hydroxy acids at home at least 2 weeks prior to one of these peels. This allows the peel to work deeper and not just on the outer superficial dead layers.

Downtime
Minimal downtime is experienced after a Rationale peel although slight peeling can last from 1-5 days depending on the strength and combination of the peel chosen. An SPF 30+ must be used diligently for at least 2 weeks after your peel.

Precautions
Although there is no evidence that chemical peels are harmful, they are not recommended during pregnancy or lactation.

Optimal results are achieved when a course of 6 at fortnightly intervals is completed but these peels can also be used as a quick ‘pick me up’ prior to an important event or to revitalise dull, tired skin.

Vitamin A + TCA Peel
Using a combination of prescription strength Retinoic acid and Trichloracetic acid, this peel gives significant improvement to many common skin concerns. It is recommended to complete a course of 3 peels at monthly intervals for optimal results.

Benefits include:
•Correct signs of sun damage
•Improve mild scarring
•Smooth fine wrinkles
•Improve blotchy brown pigmentation
•Unclog pores and reduce breakouts

Preparation
It is very important that a Vitamin A product is used at home every night and an SPF 30+ every day for at least 2 weeks prior to commencement of your peel.

Downtime
It is quite common to experience 5-7 days of consistent shedding. No active skin care products should be used at this time. An SPF 30+ must be used diligently for at least 2 weeks after peel.

Precautions
This peel is contra-indicated during pregnancy, whilst breastfeeding or if you have an allergy to retinoic acid.
